Pharyngeal Diverticula, their Cause and Treatment

Mr Charles Paul Wilson presented his Semon Lecture on the 2nd of November 1961 at the Royal Society of Medicine. In this, he gave a general description of the causes, diagnostic techniques and treatment of pharyngeal diverticula. He then goes on to discuss unpublished work on the abnormal action of secondary swallowing in a patient with a megapharynx.

Paul Wilson was born on the 17th of August 1900 in England. His knowledge of anatomy was first-rate and as such, a number of the operating techniques he developed became common practice. In 1939, he was appointed Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) and in 1962 he became a justice of the peace.
