Clinical Aspects of Respiratory Air Currents

Dr Arthur Walter Proetz delivered his Semon Lecture in 1952. Within his lecture, he synthesised conflicts in the physiology of air currents in the nasal passages through review of his previous work and also self-replicated experiments. He then went on to outline disorders of nasal respiration and their treatments.

Arthur Proetz was born in Illinois, America, on the 12th of October 1888. His work in otolaryngology helped make St Louis one of the leading cities for the specialty. He did a lot of work with the US Army and Air Force, that started during his time as a postgraduate and continued on through his career. He also did a lot of medical teaching, particularly at Washington University where he trained.
